First Alert Weather Day dumps heavy rain across Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A line of thunderstorms approached the Midstate Wednesday morning creating a mess on the roadways during the morning commute.
10:29 a.m. – The Flood Watch has been cancelled for Dickson County, Macon County, Wilson County, Jackson County, Sumner County, Smith County, Trousdale County, Humphreys County, Robertson County, Houston County, Stewart County, Davidson County, and Montgomery County, TN.
9:55 a.m. – The Flood Advisory has been canceled for Trousdale County, Macon County, Wilson County, Davidson County, Sumner County and Smith County.
8:58 a.m. – The Flood Watch has been canceled for Allen County, Logan County, Cumberland County, Simpson County, and Monroe County, KY
8:39 a.m. – The Flood Watch has been canceled for Madison County, Henry County, and Decatur County, TN.
8:10 a.m. – A Flood Advisory has been issued for Trousdale County, Macon County, Wilson County, Davidson County, Sumner County, and Smith County, TN until 11:15 a.m. CST.
7:51 a.m. – A Flood Advisory has been issued for Logan County, KY and Simpson County, KY until 11 a.m. CST.
7:37 a.m. – Tornado Warning has expired for Lewis County, Hickman County, and Perry County, TN.
7:25 a.m. – A Flood Advisory has been issued for Dickson County, Robertson County, Davidson County, Montgomery County, and Sumner County, TN until 10:30 a.m. CST.
7:24 a.m. – A Tornado Warning has been issued for Lewis County, TN, Hickman County, TN, Perry County, TN until 7:45 a.m. CST.
6:40 a.m. – The Flood Watch has been canceled for Calloway County, Trigg County, Christian County, and Todd County, Kentucky.
6:04 a.m. – A Flood Advisory has been issued for Robertson County, Houston County, Stewart County, and Montgomery County, TN until 9:15 a.m. CST.
5:20 a.m. – A Flood Warning has been issued for Trigg County.
5:07 a.m. – A Flood Warning has been issued for Christian County, KY from 8:53 a.m. to 7:07 p.m. CST.
4:38 a.m. – A Flood Advisory has been issued for Christian County, Todd County, and Trigg County, Kentucky.
4:03 a.m. – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired for Central Marshall County, Trigg County, and Lyon County.
3:36 a.m. – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Central Marshall County, Trigg County, and Lyon County until 4 a.m.
3:36 a.m. – A Flood Watch has been issued for the following Kentucky counties: Allen County, Cumberland County, Logan County, Monroe County, Simpson County, Christian County, Todd County and Trigg County.
3:36 a.m. – A Flood Watch has been issued for the following Midstate counties: Cheatham, Clay, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Macon, Montgomery, Robertson, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale and Wilson until noon Wednesday.
FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: THIS MORNING
As storms move through the Midstate this morning there is a low-end threat for a few strong to an isolated severe storm.
MAIN THREATS: Heavy rain could cause road ponding, poor visibility, and minor flooding in poor drainage areas. Gusty winds of 40+ mph and even an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out as of now.
A FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for most of Middle Tennessee until noon today.
The severe threat will diminish by the start of the afternoon, but heavy rain could still cause issues on our roadways until all of the rain moves out from west to east by the evening.
