NC Weather Forecast for Raleigh, Durham and Fayetteville, North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Temperatures continue to rise after finally returning into the 40s yesterday, and will only continue to increase as we progress through the week as a more stable and zonal upper pattern ensues.

Although today will seem warmer in comparison to the past week or so, we will still be a few degrees below the historical average. Tomorrow, however, we will see the awaited return to near historical average, and by midweek, we will be well above.

Otherwise, yet another dry day is expected for today with plenty of sunshine to start, and cloud cover will generally increase into tonight as some upper-level moisture begins to make its way into the region this afternoon. Tomorrow, there will be a few passing clouds but still by and large sunny.

The dry weather pattern may be put on a brief pause with a weak wave of energy expected to pass by to the south from Sunday night into Monday. Modeling still seems to diverge on exactly how far north or south this precip is able to reach for this timeframe; however, they are continuing to suggest that the highest chances are to the south of the Triangle.

The Euro favors precip staying even farther south than the GFS, which depicts a more widespread rain area with the southern-most portion of the viewing area getting into the northern-most fringes of the rain activity. Will continue with the 20 POP and a “mention” of a shower to the south.

As previously mentioned, temperatures will exceed the historical average by midweek ahead of the next cold front. While it appears that front can come through mostly dry, it will drop temperatures back a bit by the end of next week.

Have a good evening!
