SFO travel delays due to storm

A large pothole has formed at the intersection of Lombard and Gough Street in San Francisco as heavy rain continues, SFFD says.
The San Francisco Fire Department said it’s about five feet by four feet. It’s been causing a major headache for drivers trying to get around it to get to work or school.
SFFD originally tweeted that the hole was a sinkhole but later gave an update that it was a pothole.
ABC7 crews on scene saw multiple Waymo autonomous vehicles driving straight through at full speed, ignoring Public Works vehicles trying to block off the area.
Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area and to expect some traffic delays while repairs are being made. One crew told ABC7 the pothole was actually a failed trench.
Elsewhere in the city, there was flooding at 18th and Folsom, but a Good Samaritan came to save the day and unclogged the drain with his own set of rainboots before any Public Works officials showed up.
“Oh I just cleared the drain, you know people in the city when you see a drain clogged, you want to help out, just clear it out, people walking through here and that water is pretty is deep, just clear it out,” the man said.
