Update: Snow squall warning issued for Cortland and Tompkins counties Wednesday evening
On Wednesday at 5:04 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated snow squall warning in effect until 6 p.m. for Cortland and Tompkins counties.
“At 5:03 p.m., a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from near Pitcher to near Marathon to near Slaterville Springs, moving southeast at 40 mph,” states the weather service. “Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area.”
Locations impacted by the warning include Ithaca, Norwich, Cayuga Heights, Lansing, Caroline, Guilford, Virgil, Dryden, Nanticoke and Coventry.
